I bought an 02 Chevy Avalanche around 4 years ago, it's been an amazing truck. I pull my work trailer everyday with it with zero problems, very reliable. The F250/F350 with the 7.3 Diesel by (International T444E) is easy to repair and has simple mechanics behind how it functions. It is a truck that pulls well, if the transmission is upgraded and will last a long time. No emission problems or DEF issues. There are a variety of after market parts to complete repairs and maintenance, unlike new trucks that stop having parts made after 3-5 years. The truck has been around long enough and forums address almost all issues. Transmissions/torque converters are the weak point ($5-8k) and always keep a Cam Position Sensor ($20) in the glove box with a 10mm wrench. Another common maintenance item is the injector control module. I recommend adding a fuel rail cross over to prevent air getting trapped in fuel system and drilling out the oil drains on the top of the heads to allow better draining back to crank case.

I bought my 2012 F150 FX4 Ecoboost brand new in February 2012. I currently have 64k miles on it. I have never had a mechanical issue with it. Regular preventative maintenance has kept it very reliable. It has a comfortable and quiet ride for a truck. I have towed 3 different campers with it ranging from 5k-8k pounds. The Ecoboost easily handles the towing with plenty of HP and torque. Just don't expect great gas mileage while towing, 7-9mph. Without towing on the highway, I can average 19mph. For a half ton truck, I tow my 35ft camper with no concerns. It's a comfortable commuter truck too. I love my truck!

This little pickup surprised me with every turn. It could tow 6500# without a problem and made it 190k miles with very few repairs. Mainly just maintenance items like struts and oil. It was priced according to its size and capabilities. The only complaint I had was the interior did seam cheep and the bed was very small. But it’s also a midsize

Bought 99 xlt 4x4 in 2015. I live in Iowa. I do a lot of hunting and wood hauling. So I use the 4x4 a lot. I pull a 5x8x3 trailer when wood cutting and load the truck and trailer down heavy. She grunts a little but enough power there to get it done. Only been stuck in the snow once due to clearance and have tested it's yanking power pulling bigger vehicles out that were in there pretty good. It's supposed me. I've replaced minimal parts. Gas tank was the biggest chore. Standard rust out. Biggest engine problem to diagnose was the fuel filter. Engine knocks like a diesel engine but has plenty of power and keeps on ticking. Change oil every 5k or close to it. Plenty of cab room and leg room. Maintenance has been minimal I guess. Would buy another if the deal was right. Current mileage 186kish. It's due for some bigger maintenance now. Front end parts kit brakes rotors all around and rear seals. Not bad for a truck that's seen a lot more gravel roads than hiways. Rust is average. Rocker panels and starting on the front of box. It's been a good truck.

Very dependable, Very useful, and Very Fun to own. This truck is at 206,000 miles and everything still works as the day I bought it. I could not express how much I love it. It has the 3.5 ecoboost twin turbo engine and the fx4 luxury package it eats dodges and craps on chevy. Please note that if you currently have the 3.5 Eco boost or 2.7 Eco boost to change oil every 3 to 4k due to the high temp your oil gets because you have turbos the 5.0 v8 doesn't have turbos btw

Its 2024 I got my 2006 RTL in 2007 outside of the light of the radio isn't illuminated anymore(who cares) this truck is still rolling strong with 197k miles on it! We have done some big boy truck stuff with it too and hauled trailers up mountains(no kidding) I see these trucks on the road and they're nice and probably stronger in many ways but this truck is like an old pair of comfortable boots at this point.They do the job and when its clean,it still looks awesome!,why do I need new ones? People offer to purchase it still.

I have owned mine since, it was the first one to show up on the lot, as I worked for the owner of the dealership I bought mine in April 2005 and am still driving it and loving it, the power, towing ability, and extreme fun I’m still enjoying everyday. I was even made to go off road into a deep ditch and the ground clearance and it’s ability to maneuver got me through the ditch without ever touching the dirt or getting stuck. It’s been an enormous pleasure to drive for the last 18 years and going.

My family has own multiple ram 1500 2014 and newer all great no problems except for third brake light. Get daily easier to maintain and work on than most gm 2016 and newer more power than f150 love these trucks.

I bought mine in 2017, 2nd owner. It had 36,000 miles on it when I bought it, getting ready to turn a 100,000 miles, and the only thing I've had to do to it, is replace the Def heater, other than that, it's been a great truck. 👍
