Here is a review of my start to finish process of buying a car from Gateway Classic Cars, Ft. Lauderdale: ----- 1. The sales people who you work with are not on site. They're working remote so they don't have eyes on the car. ---- So, 2. You'll want to be connected with someone on site who can start and drive the car, provide a walkaround video, pictures of whatever you want and give their input. I worked with Alex at the Ft. Lauderdale location for my purchase and he was outstanding with helping me to know the car before making an offer. He is the reason that this is a 5 star review. -------- 3. Hauling: They'll get you a quote for hauling the vehicle. I chose Nexus Transport myself to use. They were a bit cheaper and top rated by Forbes. That went just fine. --------- 4. These cars are all on consignment. So, I feel that you have to be a little more careful because you have another party who may not have disclosed things to Gateway. Best practice is to get a pre-buy done from someone like Lemon Squad. That being said, I was so comfortable with my deal, took the risk and waived the pre-buy. And in my case, the Prowler is a mint gem and I have no concerns after receiving it. Also, there is a common thought then you buy a car like this, you should budget 10% or so of the price for maintenance right after you get the car because stuff always comes up, otherwise, don't buy a used car. --------5. Since they're on consignment, they have commissions they charge the seller. As a buyer, I don't care if I see a commissions line on the purchase agreement. As long as my out the door number was what I offered, that's fine. --------6. I wired money to them and within a few hours, I had all the fully executed paperwork back in my hands. Title took about 3 weeks to receive by UPS. And the folder had everything I needed to register the car in my state. Wow! Thank you Barbara! ------ 7. So here is what breeds loyalty. Alex at the Ft. Lauderdale location made sure the car was completely ready to be picked up including accessories that were bubble wrapped. The car was supposed to be picked up at Noon on Saturday, plenty of time before they closed at 5pm. He stayed until the truck arrived...very late....AT 1:30am Sunday morning!!!! (Otherwise, it would have sat until Tuesday). I cannot believe he did that for me. I received my car loading video at 2am. That's unbelievable service that deserves more than 5 stars. ------- Summary: I'd have zero issues with buying from Gateway again....they just operate in a different dealership style than what I'm used to, which is just fine.

Hello I just purchased a 2004 Phaeton v8 six months ago. I love this car. I have to admit, i fixed a bit of interior switches and got a total engine and transmission tune up service at a VW dealership. I love this car. It is so confortable, fast and handles excellent. I purchased it with just under 70,000 miles on it for about $8,500. I was at first reluctant to get it. I am very happy with it now. Did I mention safety? It has multiple air bags in the interior. Double paine glass, quiet and now very reliable. I have put 12,000 miles on it after the vw tune up. No problems at all. I would highly recommend one and am now looking for a 2006 vw phaeton v8. I must say they are getting scarce. People wake up these cars are really nice.

Have purchased a lot of different cars at different dealers and the three I delt with there were great. Best experence ever. Derek , Adam, and Grant treated us like royalty. Purchased a 2025 Teguan for my grand daughter 11/14/25 and went back 11/15/25 and bought one for my wife. No presure sales and two the point , no haggle sales. I have probably purchased over 50 vehicles in my 78 year history and this is like sales should be. First time volkwagen purchases.

I learned of the Volkswagen Phaeton several years ago, did some research, and realized I wanted one of them. In 2012, I found a 2004 Phaeton for sale on EBay in Connecticut. My bid was $9,250, or roughly 12% of its original cost. I flew to Hartford, test drove the car and completed the transaction. The drive back was on interstate highways all the way, and the car performed beautifully, using no oil and getting 22 miles per gallon. Not bad for a large, heavy luxury vehicle! Granted, I have dealt with some expensive repairs, such as the air suspension system and the AC system, but I did not see that as an unusual problem for a car with now having 220,000+ miles. I plan on maintaining and driving this car until I am no longer able to drive. My wife likes it, too. If we?re taking a trip, she prefers my Phaeton over her MB E350. If a person can find a clean Phaeton, I recommend having the local Volkswagen dealer give it a thorough check. If it Is in good shape, buy it. They are wonderful cars. One downside - not all VW dealers have technicians trained to work on these cars. They are NOT your normal VW. If you are some distance from qualified dealers/technicians, consider moving closer. ?

This vehicle does everything well, quiet, fast, handles, luxury ride, go anywhere, and extremely safe. It shares parts with Audi A8 and Bentley Continental with a cost to own of half their price. Only about 4,000 sold in US. Buy if you want the ultimate car, a piece of history, large roomy performance German luxury car. Don’t buy if you like simplicity, low cost repairs, non-technical. This car has a lot to offer, lot of luxuries, but that means more to take care of to.
