Salesman was not pushy. Very helpful. There were a few cosmetic issues with the vehicle, but they had just gotten it in and out did not concern me. The appearance of the dealership is very basic, but I think that is part of the reason they don't have a ton of fees. They were very transparent about everything.

Love the room inside and the great options really impressive more comfort than expected and the styling is great really happy with this purchase the three cylinder engine with turbo is surprisingly powerful

Overall, the experience was very good. We purchased the car from Mo, a polite, soft spoken man that gave us zero pressure during the entire sales process. His communication was excellent throughout the process. The car needs a bit of work, but it was listed at a great price. He offered an optional extended powertrain warranty, and fixed a worn-out serpentine belt when a local mechanic pointed it out during a pre-sale inspection. Thanks!

I am late to the game writing about this car. I bought a 2010 in 2014 with 18000 miles on it. it now has about 55K miles on it and i plan to keep it in the family until the wheels fall off. I am no expert on driving SUV's but when I drove it i was hooked. Overall it really is a great car. Two complaints: mediocre gas mileage especially around town, and can be a bit sluggish when pushed hard. have had two weird problems that required attention. 1. the radiator blew out and had to be replaced. 2. not sure how to describe this but water was saturating the driver's side floor board, and it was traced to the drain lines getting clogged. go figure. Overall: Highly recommended.

I've not driven it yet, but we investigated everything from the variable valve system to the turbo charger and watched a video of a complete teardown of the engine. We were so impressed that even before finishing the purchase of the one we were already looking for another one. This engine is AMAZING!! Can't WAIT to drive it!! And with a 6 Speed manual? COME ON YOU LITTLE BEAUTY!!!

Great experience, professional and courteous. First off, I was an out-of-state buyer. Looking at vehicle online, there were 100+ great photos, Mo sent me two video walk-arounds and offered to FaceTime if I had any additional concerns. For those buying online, this is a very reputable dealer. I sent a deposit via Zelle. Mo held vehicle and cancelled other showings for that day, as promised. The price was more than fair for my vehicle. At the time, there was not another for sale, in the entire country, with less miles in my preferred configuration (TDI). He even arranged shipping for a very reasonable price and within a few days of the purchase. They handled the out-of-state title transfer for me. I'd never purchased a vehicle without seeing in person and driving. Mo delivered on service and quality. The vehicle was as advertised, an awesome find. I'd buy from Chicago Motors Direct again, without hesitation. They have an awesome inventory of hard to find German vehicles and are knowledgeable about them. The manager Mr. Henry is a reliable man. I bought the car last week and there was a problem about the engine since the car is kinda old. He proactively offered me help and let me have the car repaired in Indiana and the expense was cover by them. As a proud owner of a 2004, 2 Gen Prius with 170K miles, we just brought our second Prius, . . . this time a 2016 Prius V. We love the smooth ride and comfort of the Prius V, as well as the spacious interior, cargo space, and the fuel economy. The single drawback is its exterior look. I think it is the ugliest car on the road. It reminds me of a wide-mouth bass, . . . referring to the front grille. Oh well, you can't have everything!

Great car. We purchased ours in 2020 with 130k miles for our daughters to learn on a manual and it has been a very reliable car. The suspension remains tight and the car is quiet with virtually no rattles. The 6 speed is smooth shifting and great fun to drive.

I drove a Golf TSI for years and absolutely loved it. Never wanted drive a different car as long as Iived. Then I had a kid(which is is tight with a golf) and someone pulled out in front of me and it got totalled. I took the money and upgraded to the Alltrack because its basically the same car with more room and AWD. Absolutely love it! Gas mileage is significantly lower than my Golf, but it still has some zip. The DSG transmission is like butter. Ill drive this car into the ground.

I bought a 2004 Cadillac Escalade EXT from Julian with 200k miles. I paid a very reasonable price for the condition it was in. On the test drive I noticed much electrical work had needed to be done to get this vehicle in tip-top shape and I expected that scenario with a used vehicle. I have adequate knowledge in cars and can read a repair/wiring manual. I replaced the dash gauge cluster, all the window switches, heated seat switches and upgraded the headlights and fog lights to LED not to mention 4 parking sensors. The engine is pristine, yes, I said pristine! Runs and shifts smoothly and flawlessly. After a little outside professional body scratch and ding repair I know have a new looking, outstanding running vehicle with customized led lighting to include blue dash back lights. I paid $4200.00 for the vehicle and invested another $2500.00 (including paint). Total investment of $6700.00. I can't find another one even near $6700.00. All that's left out there are also high miles for $10,000.00 and above in worst looking shape and that's not counting mechanical issues you can't see in a photo. If you buy a used vehicle, you had better know something about doing some repairs yourself... or you can expect to shell out some major coin!

i love this car i can wait for ford to make the new transit connect if you take car of it and do all your recomeded service this car will go 200,000 + miles but if you dont take car of it you know what is going to happen

I was looking for a specific car that was at this CarMax. Problem was that I live in Minnesota, not Chicago and would have to traveling a great distance for a car I had not seen other than in pics, potentially risking wasting a great deal of time and money. I had to trust Jonathan, my salesman, to tell me the condition of the car where the pics could not. He was completely honest and the car was exactly what he said it was. Between Jonathan and Adam, the sales manager i was able to close the deal and drive back to home within an hour. I am completely pleased with the car and 100% satisfied with the dealership. I have owned a Kia Soul Brownstone Edition for 6 years now. It hasn't given us any issues aside from a brake ABS failure in warranty. However, since Kia skimped out on immobilizers, I wouldn't get one without push button start, which is most of them, unfortunately. While they extended the warranty on the engine, they have plenty of fundamental issues with it, and also, my Kia after 4 years, has noises in front and back suspension sway bars, and the strut tower bearings make noise. While these don't need to be fixed, they make the car sound like crap. I just drove a 2019 Kona with the same amount of miles, and the suspension on that was just fine. Might be due to the larger wheels and smaller profile tires, I don't know. If Kia ever sells the EV soul in the US, I'd get that. So far, they've been good.
