Leading The Charge in Battery Technology

Today, advancements in battery systems have revolutionized how EVs process a charge, putting long wait times in the rear-view mirror and getting folks on the road faster — or behind the wheel for the first time. Riding at the top of this new wave of accelerated and range-friendly battery technology: the IONIQ 5.

Equipped with an 800V ultra-fast charging system that can power up the battery from 10% to 80% in as little as 20 minutes at a 250-kW DC fast charger station with the included CCS adapter⁶. Depending on the battery size, the IONIQ can cover a lot of ground with very little time plugged in. Owners of the long-range version (84 kWh) can expect to pick up an additional 178.1 miles of range with just 15 minutes of charging⁷, while the standard battery (63 kWh) offers a respectable 137.3 miles for the same amount of time with the included CCS adapter. On top of all that, the IONIQ 5 also allows drivers to switch from 800v to 400v should one type of charging station be occupied — significantly increasing the time it takes to get back out there.

The IONIQ 5 offers shoppers five trim levels with varying battery ranges and capacities. The SE Standard Range kicks off the selections, equipped with an up to 245-mile range combined all-electric range, while the SE and SEL top out at up to 318 miles, with an optional all-wheel-drive range of up to 290 miles⁸. The XRT and Limited packages come in the same overall range but with exclusive body designs and features, such as all-terrain tires and sunroof.
