I bought this car used in 2013 with 17,000 miles.
I bought this car used in 2013 with 17,000 miles. Late 2024 it started using oil. I decided to get rid of it before it started having a lot of problems. 159,000 miles I sold it. It was needing 2 quarts of oil every 5000 miles. I did not investigate why the oil consumption was happening. Prior to the oil issue I had no problems at all. I did all of the recommended maintenance. I loved this car. Best car I ever had. I was sad to get rid of it. - Purchased a Used car

Excellent, Very Reliable
Excellent. I bought this car used with about 20,000 miles. I've had it ever since, now has 147,000 miles. I have never had more than minor repairs: burned out bulbs, hood support struts. I have done all the preventative maintenance at a dealer, Honda or Acura. I have no plans to replace this car. It is one of the best cars I have ever owned. Only thing I don't like is that the rear seat doesn't fold completely flat and it requires Premium gas - Purchased a Used car

Oil consumption has drained my joy.
My 2012 MDX was bought used with 94k miles. Since then I have driven 90k more in it and it has been fairly reliable with regular maintenance. The starter went out at 170k miles, cv joint needed to be replaced at 150k, tie rods and bearings at 140k, and 2 sets of tires as it likes to eat through them fairly quickly the way I drive. The only major issue that is causing me to sell it is the oil consumption issues that many of these are plagued with. 1 qt every 800 miles now. The performance and handling is what I have come to expect from Honda vehicles. This being my 6th Honda/Acura. With that being said, this has been the one in the shop the most out of all of them including a 1976 Honda CB750 motorcycle. Only advice would be to skip the second gen MDX and go for the 3rd gen or newer. - Purchased a Used car

The only thing I've been having or experiencing is with my battery and something with the radio it keeps on draining my battery overnight and I live in the saw Burns in Connecticut and it makes my battery get drained - Purchased a Used car

worth every penny
I had the RL for 13 yrs with no major issues, so i decided to join the SUV club. It was a choice between the Audi Q7, Infinity J60 or the MDX..test drove all 3 for a 2 days and the MDX (by far) was the most fun to drive and had the best handle of them all..it already had 80k on it and felt brand new. - Purchased a Used car

This car is amazing and practical for everyday use. I had this since 2013 and it hardly has any issues. Sure, it's a bit pricey, but worth it. There's GPS, a TV, and even 3rd row seats! - Purchased a Used car

Suspension system isn’t that great
The suspension needs modifying I had 3 Lincoln‘s and the Lincoln ride absorbs bumps. The MDX is a beautiful car in the inside. I guess I had to make some sacrifices. - Purchased a Used car

Didn't hate; didn't love
Owned this car for a short time. We were warned the prior to MDX's moving back to the 3.5L in 2014 that the 3.7Ls used oil. Boy did ours! Bought it w/ 85k miles and it burned over a quart of oil during our 1k miles test. Acura rebuilt the engine through good faith warranty. Car broke down on us two more times in three months so my wife refused to drive it lol. Ride and interior comfort was awesome though. - Purchased a Used car

Major Disappointment. Oil consumption. 1qt/1250mi
Bought MDX new. After 80,000 started getting oil add message. Reported to Acura. Response was that adding 1qt/1000 was considered standard....Unbelievable. When purchased, at a high cost, never thought I'd be adding oil every 1,000-1,250! PS. Have owned 3 Lexus over past 20 years and have never added oil and one of them has 200,000+ miles. - Purchased a New car
