(upbeat music) <v Narrator>Cars.com auto review. Hi, this is Joe Bruzek from cars.com. The Mustang lineup is all new for 2010, and we're here with the GT500. Now, the GT500 gains more power, and better gas mileage than the previous model.
The GT500 looks like no other Mustang, thanks to this front spoiler, we got cobra emblem on the grill, a functional heat extractor hood, and a stripe theme that starts on the hood, and then goes on the inside where the gear selector, front and rear seats, rear deck, and this unique spoiler all have the stripes. So power is up 40 horsepower from the previous GT500, it's now at 540 horsepower. Not only has power been bumped, but gas mileage is up two miles per gallon, that's a 10% increase, but on this car, we really don't think people will care. (GT500 engine revving) The exhaust has a distinctive note, which is loud on the outside, but on the inside is actually very livable. The aluminum on the inside is genuine aluminum. Unfortunately, there's this polka dot theme that is supposed to be racing inspired, but just looks like something out of a bad '50s TV show. The gear selector is really precise, and the short throws make it easy to shift when you're really banging on the gears. That helps you keep control whether you're just cruising or pushing the cars limits. Even though 540 horsepower may seem intimidating, the GT500 is still very comfortable, because of that and this drop top, it's a great cruiser.
