(gentle music) For the second year in a row, a Tesla claims the top spot in Cars.com's, American-Made Index for 2022. The Tesla Model Y is the most American-made vehicle and the automaker's three other vehicles also made the Indexes Top 10. Cars.c
om visited Tesla's Fremont, California Assembly Plant to talk with employees about what this honor means to them. (gentle music) I think it's awesome. It means we're contributing to the economy, right? We're giving people jobs. We're making sure that our supply chains are intact and we're bringing more to America. A lot of the times when you buy a car, you don't really think about where it's made because it's such a large purchase. But when you think about all the components that go into the car; the people who do our IPs, the instrument panel at the front of the car are dashboards they're right up the street, right? So if we have any problems we're going right up the street we're creating jobs up there. I don't think people realize how intertwined everything is in the US. When you think about a Global Supply Chain, right? You don't need to have dependencies on the other parts of the world and you want to make sure you continue making and prosper your manufacturing. And I think, with the recent Global Supply Chain challenges, it very prevalent that we want to make sure we build cars here. And we produce all the parts relative to the car here also. That always helps. And I think that's the very important thing. Well, it makes me proud. That's why I came to Tesla, because I wanted to work for a company that built something here and created jobs for the Bay area. And I love it being a part of Tesla. Honestly, it makes me very proud. It's a really great accomplishment and it shows a direct reflection of the hard work of all the employees that work here. It's a prideful thing, you know. It's really cool to see the efforts of the hard-work and everything I've done over the last 10 years. It's shaping out throughout all of California and throughout all the United States. I started with Tesla very early on and I saw us with the very first product. Here we are four products later with a lot of energy products. And I think when we take a look at that for us to be able to stand up front in front of all the other big players to say that we've done, what we've done in a short amount of time is truly, truly amazing. And it goes to a testament of all the hard work, and all the people here at Tesla. Definitely, I feel very proud of what we do here every day. And it's amazing building the cars with all the American workers, like here we have and it's pretty amazing, you know? Learn more at cars.com/ami.
