(car engine revving) After only four years of the ninth generation, Honda is already ready to unveil a fully redesigned 10th generation of its very popular Civic.
We're here at the auto show with a bit of an unexpected development in a concept version of the coupe. We'll tell you what we know. Now, if you followed Honda at auto shows lately you'll know that the automaker's concepts don't fall that far from what the production cars actually look like. So check out some of these swooping lines here, a big departure, obviously for the Civic. This is the coupe, they'll also be a sedan. And for the first time, in a long time, an actual four-door hatchback version of the car. There's a sweeping light here that comes all the way across the tail. Some of these crowded kind of sections here on the lower part of the bumper probably won't make it to actual production status. But overall, definitely big changes for the car. Now, overall dimensions remain about the same, Honda says. But the car is a little bit wider than before. Come check out the front here. Kind of a big shift here in terms of how the grill sets up. It just kind of comes off in a very vertical fashion from the leading edge of the hood. Now, Honda been making incremental changes every model year or two on the ninth generation Civic. But this full redesign will hit dealerships starting with the sedan in fall of 2015. Stay tuned to cars.com for more details. (car trunk slamming)
