The newest member of cars.com's long-term test fleet is the 2015 Honda Fit. Honda redesigned it's entry-level hatchback with new technology and more advanced drive terrain, and less bug eyed styling than the previous generation.
Now the Fit comes in LX, EX, and EXL trim levels with manual or continuously variable automatic transmissions. About two thirds of local inventory on cars.com were EX models and the CVT offers the best shot at good fuel economy with an EPA 35 miles per gallon combined. We wanted to report how easy or difficult it would be to get that kind of mileage. So we set our sights on a Fit EX automatic. Now the EX takes a pretty well-equipped LX and adds features like fog lights, 16 inch alloy wheels, a moon roof, keyless access with push button start, and Honda's LaneWatch side view camera system. On the inside it also gets a seven inch multimedia touchscreen with Pandora support and HondaLink smartphone streamed App Suite. We'll own the fit for an entire year to see how it holds up mechanically, what kind of gas mileage it gets, and whether we really liked that LaneWatch system and touchscreen stereo. Stay along for the ride on cars.com news, where you'll read all of that and much more.
