10 Biggest News Stories of the Week: Kia Telluride Reaches Summit, Honda Pilot Takes Off
Like the Colorado mountain town for which it’s named, the redesigned-for-2027 Kia Telluride is elevated. Addressing virtually all of our issues with the already-excellent outgoing Telluride and surpassing expectations in doing so, our reviewers greeted the all-new incarnation of the mid-size SUV with an avalanche of praise at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show, which opened to the public Friday and runs through the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. We even bestowed the Telluride with our top honor at the L.A. exhibition, Best in Show, and we tell you all of the reasons why in Cars.com’s most popular news article of the past week.

The Telluride gets almost everything right. It’s sexy new exterior styling gives it a luxurious look that edges away from the off-road-ready ruggedness of old. The cabin can be colorful if you choose, but it’s comfy no matter what, with improved spaciousness in both rearward rows coming courtesy of a longer wheelbase and overall length. A pair of powertrain options promise peppier driving dynamics, with a new standard turbocharged four-cylinder supplanting the old six-cylinder and a hybrid we already know to be impressive in the Kia’s cousin, the Hyundai Palisade, with which it shares a platform.

In other three-row SUV news from the L.A. show, the Honda Pilot showed up refreshed for the 2026 model year. Not a ton has changed with the Pilot, but its standard digital displays do get bigger, with a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster replacing a 7-inch unit, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen taking the place of 7- and 9-inch screens. Exterior styling gets tweaked, too, with slightly tougher looks coming courtesy of a larger grille and other minor flourishes. The lone powertrain — a 3.5-liter V-6 mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission — remains, with the automaker’s to-be-tested promise of improved handling and cabin quietness.
