Toyota is recalling approximately 102,000 examples of its Toyota Tundra and Lexus LX (Lexus is Toyota’s luxury brand) for potentially faulty engines that can cause a possible loss of motive power.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2022-23 Toyota Tundra pickup trucks and Lexus LX SUVs. Machining debris potentially left in the engine during production can result in engine knocking, rough running or no start; there is also the risk of a potential loss in motive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Toyota is currently developing a remedy for this issue. The automaker will notify owners by late July, but in the meantime, owners can contact Toyota at 800-331-4331, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visitits website to check yourvehicle identification number and learn more.
