Stellantis is recalling nearly 121,400 examples of its Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L SUVs over an issue with the head restraints. (Stellantis is Jeep’s parent automaker.)
Affected vehicles include model-year 2023-24 Grand Cherokees and Grand Cherokee Ls. The issue involves the second-row head restraints, which may not lock in the upright position. A head restraint that is not locked upright increases the risk of injury in certain types of crashes.
To fix the issue, dealers will inspect and replace the second-row head restraints, as necessary, for free. Stellantis will notify owners Sept. 5, but those with further questions can contact the automaker at 800-853-1403 (Stellantis’ number for this recall is 20C), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
