161,000 Mercedes SUVs Recalled for Detaching Window Trim
A new recall is out for exactly 161,000 Mercedes-Benz, -AMG and -Maybach SUVs following the discovery of a manufacturing error that could lead to door trim detaching.

Affected SUVs include model-year 2020-21 GLE580s and GLS580s; model-year 2020-22 GLE350s, GLE450s and GLS450s; model-year 2021 AMG GLE63s, AMG GLS63s and Maybach GLS600s; and model-year 2021-22 AMG GLE53s. Thanks to said manufacturing error, the rear door window trim bars may detach, causing a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
To resolve the problem, dealers will inspect and secure the rear window trim bars, as necessary, for free. Owners will be notified Nov. 11, but those with questions can call Mercedes at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
