Ford’s latest recall affects more than 174,800 vehicles, including a population of Navigator SUVs from Ford’s luxury brand Lincoln, and involves the moonroof wind deflector, which may detach.
Affected Fords include model-year 2021-22 Expedition SUVs, model-year 2021-23 F-150 pickup trucks, and model-year 2022 Super Duty F-250, F-350 and F-450 trucks; affected Lincolns include model-year 2021-22 Navigators. The moonroof wind deflector clips on the affected vehicles may not be adequately attached to the moonroof frame; as a result, the wind deflector may detach and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
As a fix, dealers will inspect and repair the moonroof wind deflector, as necessary, for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 3; in the meantime, owners with further questions may contact Ford at 866-436-7332 (the automaker’s number for this recall is 25SB7), the National Traffic Safety Administration vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit the NHTSA website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
