Summer seems to be the season for convertibles and convertible news. Today BMW announced the M6 convertible, with the same V-10 engine found in the award-winning M5 sedan and M6 coupe, will arrive this fall.
The convertible manages to squeeze an extra seven horsepower out of the famed powerplant, bringing the figure to an eye-popping 507. That takes this M6 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds, versus the coupe’s 4.5-second time. How much will all this open-air power cost? Prices will be announced closer to the car reaching U.S. dealerships. But if the M6 coupe’s premium of $24,300 over the top of the line 650i ($71,800) is any indication, the M6 convertible would cost $103,100.
