We’re three weeks away from the Detroit auto show, and while some automakers are revealing the models they’ll be debuting early – like the Mitsubishi Lancer – others are playing the anticipation game by leaking small hints of what they’ll bring to the show.

Mazda will unveil another design concept called the Ryuga, shown above. This concept follows on the heels of the wild Nagare concept shown at the L.A. Auto Show last month. It looks to share a similar front end, but features fanciful gull-wing doors as well.

There’s also word that Lincoln will show a rear-wheel-drive sedan concept. According to BusinessWeek, the concept is based on Ford Australia’s next Falcon model, which has not been brought to the U.S. We’re excited about the Lincoln concept and think rear- and all-wheel drive are the right move for the next big Lincoln sedan. We also wonder what this means for the much more imminent Lincoln MKS, an all-wheel-drive sedan that is scheduled to debut in 2008.

Stay tuned for more news on the 2007 Detroit auto show.
