BMW CS Concept

Make no mistake, BMW rarely releases a concept car without a very good idea that it will actually build it one day. Sure, the wild-looking CS Concept introduced in Shanghai might be a fancier flight of design than usual, but there’s probably a good chance that BMW is planning a luxury four-door coupe to compete with the Maserati Quattroporte and, more importantly, the upcoming Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin Rapide.

For the design buffs out there, this looks like a marriage of the recent angle-crazy designs seen throughout the BMW lineup and the dash of elegance that has been noticeably absent as of late.

There’s no mention of an engine, but BMW has plenty of powerful options to choose from, like the V-10 in the BMW M5 or the V-12 in the 760. Of course, by the time this sees the light of day, perhaps BMW will have something entirely new to go under the hood. Enjoy more photos and share your thoughts below.
