Toyota Debuts Certified Used Hybrid Program

Toyota expects the additional inspection and warranty coverage to drive up consumer confidence in used hybrid vehicles by guaranteeing them with a comprehensive three-month/3,000-mile warranty. They will also have a seven-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, a roadside assistance plan and a special inspection of the battery system.

This is especially important since some consumers fear (rightly or wrongly) that battery life will eventually become an issue for hybrids. Toyota hybrid batteries come with an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.
