CARS.COM — Vehicles affected by service bulletin:
The problem: A faulty radiator anti-tamper device may cause loss of communication to the engine control module. If this happens, the check engine light will come on and warning chimes may ring.
Corrective action: Dealers will replace the radiator anti-tamper device, update the engine control module software and delete any diagnostic trouble codes.
Warranty info: This service bulletin is being performed free of charge under the Volvo new-car, extended or federal emissions warranty, whichever applies.
What owners should do: Call your local dealer with your vehicle’s identification number to determine if it’s involved in this service bulletin. You can also call Volvo at 800-550-5658 or NHTSA at 888-327-4236. Reference TSB No. TJ27910.
