2011-2012 BMW Oil Filter Issue

The problem: Affected vehicles equipped with a plastic oil filter housing may lead to an internal or external oil or coolant leak. Should this occur, engine damage could take place.

- 2012 BMW Z4
- 2011 BMW 5 Series sedan
- 2012 BMW 5 Series sedan
- 2011 BMW X3

- 2012 BMW 3 Series sedan
Corrective action: Dealers will replace the plastic oil filter housing with an aluminum housing.
