2011-2016 Toyota Tacoma: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Model-year 2011-16 Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks equipped with accessory hood scoops installed by Southeast Toyota Distributors or SET dealers are among the approximately 3,500 vehicles being recalled with model year 2011-16 4Runner SUVs

The Problem: The adhesive attaching the hood scoop may weaken, allowing the hood scoop to detach from the vehicle, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will mechanically fasten the scoop to the hood for free.

What Owners Should Do: SET will begin notifying owners Aug. 28. Owners can call SET at 954-429-2000, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
