When the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder goes on sale later this month, it will start at $29,095, including an $825 destination charge.
That means the new Pathfinder costs less than the outgoing 2012 Pathfinder ($30,115). It’s also less expensive than the 2013 Chevy Traverse ($31,335), 2013 Honda Pilot ($30,250), 2013 Toyota Highlander ($29,715) and 2013 Dodge Durango ($29,990).
The Pathfinder is now, officially, a car-based, three-row crossover; previously it was a traditional body-on-frame SUV. The 2013 Pathfinder gets great gas mileage for its class, estimated at 20/26/22 mpg city/highway/combined with front-wheel drive and 19/25/21 mpg with all-wheel drive.
The 2013 Pathfinder comes in S, SV, SL and Platinum trims.
The S comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, a tri-zone automatic climate-control system, push-button start, an in-dash six-disc CD changer and a security system.
The SV adds a backup camera with sonar, Bluetooth connectivity, a passive keyless entry system, a 7-inch center console display, an eight-way powered driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, and wood-toned trim. The SV also gets roof rails and a front tow hook. The SV costs $32,355, including destination.
The SL costs $35,295 and adds fog lights, a powered lift gate, remote engine start, heated mirrors, heated front seats, a HomeLink garage door opener and leather upholstery.
An SL Premium trim adds dual panoramic moonroofs, a Bose stereo and the tow package for $37,945.
The Platinum trim costs $39,995 and adds 20-inch alloy wheels, a navigation system, 13-speaker Bose stereo, Around View cameras, climate-controlled front seats, heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel.
The SV, SL and Platinum trims have an optional trailer tow package that costs $400 and includes a tow hitch receiver with seven-pin wiring harness. All-wheel drive is a $1,600 option on all trims. The Pathfinder can tow 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.
A Pathfinder Platinum Premium edition adds dual panoramic moonroofs and dual 7-inch displays mounted into the rear of the front seat headrests. The trim costs $42,295.
