2013-2014 BMW i3 Steering Column Issue

The problem: Drivers may hear or feel a clunking noise through the steering column, and a large amount of play can be felt in the steering wheel when it’s moved up and down. This may be due to a faulty steering column.

Cars affected by service bulletin:

  • 2014 BMW i3
  • 2015 BMW i3

Corrective action: Dealers will replace the steering column.

Warranty info: This service is being performed free of charge under BMW’s new-car or extended warranty, whichever applies.
