For 2015, the Prius c — Toyota’s angriest-looking hybrid — got a number of updates to its front end, like a larger grille and new headlights. Unfortunately, the inside didn’t really change, and it could use some updating. But the big story is its fuel economy, the highest of any car without a plug.

Hellbent on finding a journalism job after earning an English degree from DePaul University, I stumbled into the automotive industry in 2003 — much to the delight of my Corvette-obsessed dad.
