We've always like the look of the new Ram Rebel and found it to be a prime competitor in the capability-driven half-ton pickup segment. But it looks like Ram (more specifically, the Mopar parts unit) has made it even better with this new special edition.
In order to keep up with the never-ending series of special trim packages for pickups, Ram has introduced the aggressive-looking 2016 Mopar Ram Rebel. Outfitted with upgrades and styling modifications, the newest Rebel package will be available later this summer in a limited run of 500 trucks and start at $52,460 plus shipping.
The Mopar Rebel includes several Mopar Custom Accessories and additional special customizing accents can be ordered through select dealerships.
The special-edition Rebel is the first Mopar-modified pickup truck to follow the Mopar Challenger and Mopar Charger R/T, among others. The package will include an aluminum dual-snout hood with matte-black graphics, off-road fender flares, striped accents on the sides and tailgate, extra skid plates, 17-inch satin-black wheels, aluminum accents and badging inside the truck, black sidesteps, a spray-on bedliner, and a trifold tonneau cover with a Ram logo.
Optional performance equipment that can be ordered separately includes a cold-air induction system and a Mopar cat-back exhaust system.
Mopar Ram Rebels will be offered in two color schemes; Flame Red and Brilliant Black two-tone, or a Brilliant Black monotone.
Although the Mopar Ram Rebel looks more aggressive, we should note it will have the same ground clearance and four-wheel-drive powertrain and suspension as previous Ram Rebels. We should get our first chance to see this new truck later this month and will have a quick report on whether the look matches its performance.
