Vehicles Affected: Approximately 22,200 model-year 2017-18 Jeep Cherokee SUVs
The Problem: The tire and rim size information required to be on the certification label was omitted during manufacturing, which may result in an incorrect tire and rim combination being installed on the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will provide a corrected certification label for free.
What Owners Should Do: Jeep manufacturer Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will begin notifying owners on Oct. 20. Owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
