What it is: The Dodge Challenger sticks to a retro theme that has been relatively successful for the big sports coupe. The rear-wheel-drive Challenger comes with standard V-6 power and offers a choice of V-8 engines, including a supercharged V-8 in the SRT Hellcat model that makes 707 horsepower. Competitors include the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro.

New for 2017
A new fourth-generation Uconnect system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring on the available 8.4-inch touch-screen. The screen’s resolution is higher, and it also recognizes pinching and swiping gestures. Dodge also says the system starts up faster and has more processing power.
