CARS.COM — Porsche Macan Turbo owners: You’re not top dog any longer. A new Macan Turbo Performance Package tops the lineup for 2017 with more go, more stop and a lowered suspension compared with the regular Macan Turbo. The Performance Package’s turbocharged 3.6-liter six-cylinder makes 40 more horsepower than the Macan Turbo through unique engine calibration for a grand total of 440 hp. Porsche says this is good for zero to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds (0.2 seconds faster), which is a few ticks faster than an entry-level Porsche 911 (4.4 seconds).

The Macan Turbo with the Performance Package also costs nearly as much as an entry-level 911, starting at $87,495 with destination. In addition to more power, the pricey package includes more robust brakes with larger front brake rotors and an air suspension that sits 10 millimeters lower than Turbo models with the optional air suspension. The Performance Package is $10,000 more than a base Macan Turbo and also includes a standard Sport Chrono Package and sport exhaust that are optional on lesser Macan models, including the Turbo. Those interested in the ultimate Macan can place orders now.
