The Envision is a compact SUV that seats up to five. It come standard with a 197-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Also available is a 252-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that works with a new nine-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel-drive models are offered. Competitors include the Acura RDX and Lincoln MKC.
The Envision features mildly updated front and rear styling and a new grille design. The available turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder now works with a nine-speed automatic transmission that Buick claims results in quicker acceleration. Other changes include an improved hands-free microphone, heated seats that warm up quicker and faster wireless charging for mobile devices.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity is standard. Also standard is 4G LTE connectivity (data trial included) and a Wi-Fi hot spot for up to seven devices. GM’s Teen Driver feature lets parents oversee driving habits of young drivers. A Bose premium stereo is available.
If you want a compact SUV with a stylish, quiet interior and good ride and handling, the Envision might be for you. That said, it can feel a little tight inside, and there’s more body roll than in some competitors.
