The Chevrolet Suburban is a full-size SUV that can seat up to nine people in three rows. Its standard engine is a 355-horsepower, 5.3-liter V-8 that works with a six-speed automatic transmission. Rear- and four-wheel-drive versions are available. Competitors include the Ford Expedition Max, Toyota Sequoia and its GM sibling, the GMC Yukon XL.
An available RST Performance Package features a 420-hp, 6.2-liter V-8 engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission and performance-tuned Magnetic Ride Control suspension technology.
A large cargo area offers plenty of space for a large family’s stuff, and the spacious passenger area offers room to stretch out. The driving position provides a commanding view of the road, and the Suburban can tow heavy loads on family adventures.
If you’ve got a big family with a lot of gear, there’s a good chance the Suburban can handle it. It’s a massive SUV, however, and its size may take some getting used to if you’re new to full-size SUVs. It can also get quite pricey.
