The Mazda CX-3 is a subcompact SUV that seats five. It’s powered by a 148-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a six-speed automatic transmission. Front- and all-wheel-drive versions are available. Competitors include the Fiat 500X, Ford EcoSport and Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
An electronic parking brake is now standard, and the center console and armrest have been revised for more storage space. The front seats are new and can be finished in full-leather upholstery. Exterior changes include new grille styling, taillights and wheels.
Numerous high-tech safety features are available, including pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane departure warning. Available upscale features include a head-up display, heated steering wheel and adaptive LED headlights.
If you are looking for an affordable subcompact SUV with better-than-average interior quality, the CX-3 is worth a look. It offers a lot of high-end features, but its backseat is especially small and its multimedia interface isn’t great to use.
