2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class: Recall Alert
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 3,600 model-year 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedans
The Problem: The air-conditioning condensation drain hose may not be installed properly. This may allow water to enter the front-seat footwells and center tunnel area, potentially damaging certain electrical components and resulting in malfunctions of the supplemental restraint system, failure to start, activation of the limp-home mode while driving and an impairment of other features, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the A/C drain hose installation, correcting it if necessary, for free.
What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz will begin notifying owners Sept. 15. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
