Performance Steering Wheel

First, both cars will have a performance steering wheel wrapped in leather, with carbon-fiber accents and a red stripe at the 12 o’clock position. The wheel will include controls for Cadillac’s V-Mode (likely similar to the Chevrolet Corvette’s Z-Mode) and the Performance Traction Management system, giving the driver easy access to both features even during high-performance driving. Also visible in the picture Cadillac shared is what appears to be a digital speedometer reading of 200 mph, though that hasn’t yet been confirmed as an attainable speed for either car. Yet.

Performance Seats

The GM luxury brand also showed an image of the back of one of the CT5-V Blackwing’s available carbon-fiber seats. One of the most interesting aspects of the seats is that they’re “book-matched” so that the visible carbon-fiber weave appears in a V-shaped pattern. The seatbacks will also have a laser-etched V logo. Cadillac says: “The seats will also include other customer-centric innovations and features that will be announced at a later date.”

If you’re interested in the CT4-V Blackwing, don’t get too excited by these announced and possible features just yet; the carbon-fiber seats are exclusive to the CT5-V Blackwing, though a Cadillac spokesperson said the CT4-V Blackwing will offer “different top-tier racing-inspired seats.”

Release Date

We’re still waiting on performance figures, pricing and a chance to drive these monster sports sedans (so far we’ve only driven the lesser V-Series versions of both), but we do know that — as of now — the 2022 CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing will be available in summer 2021.
