The Chevrolet Suburban is receiving mostly light updates for the 2023 model year, but a notable addition is the Super Cruise semi-autonomous hands-free driving system. Chevrolet is also bumping the price up slightly — the Suburban now starts at $58,795 (including destination).

Originally offered on the Cadillac CT6 sedan for 2018, Chevy parent GM has subsequently expanded the Super Cruise tech to include the Cadillac Escalade luxury and GMC Yukon premium full-size SUVs. Now it’s the Suburban’s turn, and the system will be available on Premier and High Country trims.

Changes to the big three-row SUV are otherwise minimal. The styling of the 2023 Suburban is carried over, but there are three new exterior color options: Silver Sage Metallic, Sterling Gray and Radiant Red Tintcoat. A blacked-out accessory grille is available on the LS, LT, RST and Premier trims, which replaces the bow tie and chrome with large “Chevrolet” lettering.

Performance for the 2023 Suburban is also carried over. A 355-horsepower, 5.3-liter V-8 continues to be the base engine; a 277-hp, turbo-diesel 3.0-liter inline-six is available on all trims except the off-road-focused Z71 and the High Country, where it comes standard; and a 420-hp, 6.2-liter V-8 remains the most powerful option. Rear-wheel drive is standard and four-wheel drive adds $3,000 except on the Z71, where it’s standard. All engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
