2024 Toyota RAV4 Prime: Power and Efficiency Starting at $44,835

With a manufacturer-estimated 42-mile electric range, a 38 mpg combined rating and enough power for 5.5-second 0-60 mph sprints, the Toyota RAV4 Prime compact SUV is a convincing counterargument to the prevailing wisdom that you can’t be all things to all people. And, already possessing most of the qualities people look for in new cars, the RAV4 Prime enters the 2024 model year unchanged.

Powertrain and Efficiency
The RAV4 Prime uses the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine as the RAV4 Hybrid, but a pair of electric motors boosts system output to 302 horsepower. One of those motors powers the rear wheels, giving the Prime all-wheel drive when it’s needed. An 18.1-kilowatt-hour battery pack can power the SUV for up to 42 miles without burning any gas.
Standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+
Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard on all 2024 RAV4 Primes. It includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking that also keeps a digital eye out for traffic and pedestrians when making turns. Adaptive cruise control and active lane-centering steering ease highway driving. Blind spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.
Availability and Pricing
The 2024 Toyota RAV4 Prime goes on sale later this year. The SE trim level starts at $44,835, and the XSE starts at $48,705 (both prices include $1,395 for delivery).
