2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV: More Power and Available Features, Same Base Price

After discontinuing the Bolt EV and EUV — and then deciding to bring them back — Chevrolet doubled down on mainstream electric vehicles for 2024 with the Blazer EV and Equinox EV, a pair of SUVs sized for the heart of the U.S. market. The EV world is changing fast, but the Equinox EV isn’t, carrying its $34,995 starting price (all prices include destination) into 2025 unchanged.

Retrimmed
In a curious move, Chevrolet abandons its well-established trim-level naming convention on the 2025 Equinox EV for a verbose (albeit admittedly descriptive) format. The line still forks into LT and RS ladders, but instead of the succinct 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, 2RS and 3RS, we now have the LT; LT with Comfort and Active Safety 2 Package; LT with Comfort, Active Safety 2 Package and Convenience I Package; LT with Comfort, Active Safety 2 Package and Convenience II Package; RS; and RS with Convenience II Package.
New for this year is the LT with Comfort and Active Safety 2 Package, which fills the $8,300 void between the former LT and 2LT trims. The trim levels formerly known as 3LT and 3RS are about $1,100 more expensive than they were for 2024 but now include a head-up display and rearview camera mirror, which gives the driver a clear line of sight out the back of the vehicle even if their view is obstructed by people or cargo.

Standard Equipment
Standard safety features on the 2025 Equinox EV include forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane departure steering assist, blind spot steering assist, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, rear parking sensors, a following distance indicator and GM’s safety alert seat, which vibrates the sides of the driver’s seat bottom cushion to warn of potential hazards.
Other standard equipment on the Equinox EV LT is limited, but not basic: 19-inch wheels, manually adjustable cloth seats, an 11-inch digital instrument panel and a 17.7-inch touchscreen with Google Built-In.
Powertrain Specs and Range
The Equinox EV’s battery pack still holds 85 kilowatt-hours, but the electric motors are tweaked for a slight increase in power. Front-drive models now make 220 horsepower and 243 pounds-feet of torque, both increases of seven over 2024. All-wheel-drive Equinox EVs now boast 300 hp and 355 pounds-feet, up 12 hp and 22 pounds-feet. Chevrolet says the FWD model’s range is unchanged from 2024, at 319 miles; the company makes no mention of the AWD EV’s range, which was 285 miles. The Equinox can take up to 150 kilowatts on a DC fast charger, allowing it to add 77 miles of range in 10 minutes.

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV will go on sale soon. The base LT trim will arrive at dealers first, followed by the rest of the lineup.
