Ford’s latest recall affects nearly 273,800 examples of its Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs (Lincoln is Ford’s luxury brand), and it involves an issue that may result in a loss of brake function.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2022-24 Expeditions and Navigators. The issue is with the front brake lines, which may become damaged when they come into contact with the engine air cleaner outlet pipe. As a result, a brake fluid leak and loss of brake function may occur, increasing the risk of a crash.
To resolve the issue, dealers will replace the brake line and air cleaner outlet pipe, as necessary, for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 26, but those with further questions can contact Ford at 866-436-7332 (Ford’s recall number for this issue is 25S47), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
