For the second month in a row, Ram’s heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks are part of a six-figure recall — and this time, the recall ropes in fellow Stellantis brand Dodge and its Durango SUV. More than 370,400 vehicles are under recall for a software glitch that could prevent an indicator light from working.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2019-22 Ram 2500 pickups, model-year 2019-22 Ram 3500 chassis cabs with a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 10,000 pounds, and model-year 2021-22 Dodge Durango SUVs. The antilock brake system control-module software may prevent the electronic stability control malfunction-indicator light from illuminating in certain conditions, increasing the risk of a crash.
To fix the issue, dealers will update the ABS control module software for free. Dodge and Ram parent Stellantis will begin notifying owners April 29, but those with additional questions can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, or visit NHTSA’s website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
