Affected trucks include model-year 2025 2500 and 3500 pickups and 4500 and 5500 chassis-cab trucks. A software error in the occupant restraint controller module may cause the driver-side airbag or seat belt pretensioner not to deploy in a crash and disable the electronic stability control system. Driving with a disabled ESC system increases the risk of a crash; additionally, a driver-side airbag or seat belt pretensioner that does not deploy increases the risk of injury in a crash.
Dealers will update the occupant restraint controller module software for free to resolve the issue. Ram parent automaker Stellantis will notify owners Jan. 15, 2026. Those with further questions can contact Stellantis at 800-853-1403 (the automaker’s designation for this recall is C3C), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
