Affected vehicles include model-year 2025 F-150s equipped with the 3.5-liter hybrid powertrain. The seat belt warning system’s audible chime may not activate at vehicle startup when the driver or passenger’s seat belt is not buckled, decreasing seat belt use and increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
To resolve the issue, dealers will update the audio control module software for free. Owners will be notified of the risk Aug. 25, and second letters will be mailed once the remedy is available. Owners with further questions may contact Ford at 866-436-7332 (Ford’s number for this recall is 25C31), the National Traffic Safety Administration vehicle-safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236, or visit the NHTSA website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
