Stellantis’ latest recall involves some 67,100 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivans that feature a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. Prompting the recall is an issue with a transmission wiring connector.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2017-23 Pacifica Hybrids. The internal transmission wiring connector may short-circuit, potentially causing the engine to unexpectedly shut down. The sudden loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
As a remedy, dealers will update the power inverter module and instrument panel cluster software for free. Chrysler parent automaker Stellantis will begin notifying owners March 8, but those with further questions in the meantime can contact the brand at 800-853-1403 (Stellantis’ number for this recall is 03A) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
