The biggest pickup truck news coming out of the 2020 Chicago Auto Show, which closed its doors on Monday, was the unveiling of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Mojave — Jeep’s first “Desert Rated” vehicle. Jeep had previously made liberal use of its “Trail Rated” designation, but the Gladiator Mojave is designed for traversing desert environments at high speed instead of the traditional low-speed rock crawling at which many Jeeps excel.

Jeep gave the Mojave a variety of updates to make it capable of desert running, including 2.5-inch Fox-brand shocks, Falken Wildpeak A/T tires, a front-end lift to increase ground clearance, skid plates and sand-slider side rails. Industry-first Fox hydraulic jounce bumpers will soften the blow as you go flying from dune to dune.

In related coverage, we also took the time to see what the Gladiator Mojave has when compared with two of the biggest non-Jeep names in factory off-roaders: Chevrolet’s Colorado ZR2 and Ford’s F-150 Raptor. We looked at everything from specialty equipment to four-wheel-drive adjustability to interior comfort.

Trucks were also highlighted in some of our news roundup stories this past week, including our most popular stories from Chicago and our most popular reviews and videos of the week, as well as our collection of safety-award-winning vehicles and car-shopping deals for the month of February.
