BMW is offering three versions of its all-new 3 Series coupe, including two different engine choices. Most exciting to BMW fans is the first use of a new BMW powerplant: a twin-turbo inline-six-cylinder that delivers 300 hp; the outgoing model produced 225 hp. The new engine will be in the 335i coupe priced at $41,295.
For mere-mortal drivers, the 325i comes equipped with a 230-hp inline-six-cylinder sans any turbocharger. But the new engine is still a big step up from the 185-hp delivered by the outgoing engine in the 2006 330Ci. Pricing for the 328i starts at $35,995.
There will also be an all-wheel-drive 328xi coupe, marking the first time BMW has offered its xDrive in a two-door. The $37,795 price is a reasonable jump from the base 328i and answers direct competition from the current and next-generation Infiniti G coupes. Expect to see the 3 Series Coupes at dealerships in September.
