Updated Touchscreen
No longer is there a difference between the infotainment systems in the base and uplevel trim levels for the A5 and Q5, as a digital instrument cluster that merges with the infotainment touchscreen is now standard in both vehicles. The operating logic behind the MMI is unchanged, but the screens and graphics have been updated for what Audi says is a “more consistent appearance” between the in-car displays and the myAudi smartphone app. There are now fewer lists in the system’s menus and more graphical representations of choices, which the brand claims leverage “intelligent applications of background palettes and contrasts to speed recognition and further reduce distractions.”
A front passenger display continues to be available in both the A5 and the Q5. Now, though, passengers can connect Bluetooth headphones and controllers for in-car gaming and video streaming. Meanwhile, other vehicle occupants can listen to separate media over the sound system’s speakers.
Controls and Controlling the Narrative
Audi has also updated the steering-wheel-mounted controls for the digital instrument panel. Previously touchpads, the controls revert to the scroll wheels Audi has used in the past. Additionally, a high-resolution dashcam that integrates into the rearview mirror is now available for the A5 and Q5. Recordings can be started and stopped through the touchscreen, and the system automatically saves the 30 seconds before and after an incident occurs, such as an accident.
Release Date and Pricing
The 2026 Audi A5 and Q5 are on sale now. The A5 is priced from $51,495, and the Q5 starts at $54,095 (both figures include a $1,295 destination charge).
