Ch-Ch-Changes: 2011 Volvo Lineup

Interesting notes: While Volvo has discontinued the slow-selling V70 wagon for 2011, it has drastically changed the pricing and packaging of the more popular XC70, making the model several thousand dollars cheaper; the high-end S80 is now a less-expensive entry than the all-new S60, which is odd considering the S80 is supposedly the flagship. 2011 Volvo S40 

  • S40 2.4i has been discontinued, replaced by a new T5 model 
  • Auto-dimming rearview mirrors and power driver’s seat with memory now standard  
  • All-wheel drive and manual transmission options have been discontinued 
  • T5 R-Design now comes with a glass moonroof standard 

S40 Pricing 

  • S40 T5: $27,750 (new trim) 
  • S40 T5 R-Design: $31,150 (unchanged from 2010) 

2011 Volvo S60 

Volvo S80

 

  • 3.2-liter inline-six engine power increases to 240 hp (up 5 hp from 2010) 
  • 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six power increases to 300 hp (up 19 hp from 2010) 
  • Standard satellite radio 
  • The S80’s 311-hp V-8 powertrain has been discontinued 
  • Executive Package has been replaced by the Inscription Package 

S80 Pricing 

  • S80 3.2: $36,950 (down $2,250 from 2010 S80 3.2) 
  • S80 T6 AWD: $40,700 (down $2,250 from 2010 S80 T6 AWD) 

2011 Volvo V50 

  • V50 2.4i has been discontinued, replaced by a new T5 model 
  • Auto-dimming rearview mirrors and power driver seat with memory now standard

  • Discontinued for the 2011 model year 2011 Volvo XC60 
  • 3.2-liter inline-six engine power increases to 240 hp (up 5 hp from 2010) 
  • 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six power increases to 300 hp (up 19 hp from 2010) 
  • New XC60 3.2 R-Design trim, which includes articulating dual xenon headlamps, panoramic roof, leather upholstery, power passenger seat, 20-inch alloy wheels and interior aluminum accents

  • XC60 3.2: $32,400 (up $5 from 2010 XC60 3.2) 
  • XC60 3.2 R-Design: $38,050 (new trim) 
  • XC60 T6 AWD: $38,400 (up $1,200 from 2010 XC60 T6 AWD)

2011 Volvo XC70 

  • All-wheel drive now optional on base model instead of standard 
  • XC70 3.2 FWD effectively replaces the Volvo V70 
  • 3.2-liter inline-six engine power increases to 240 hp (up 5 hp from 2010) 
  • 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six power increases to 300 hp (up 19 hp from 2010) 
  • Standard satellite radio 
  • Standard power glass moonroof on the T6 AWD
