Affected vehicles include model-year 2022-26 F-150 Lightning electric pickup trucks, model-year 2024-26 Mustang Mach-E SUVs and model-year 2025-26 Maverick pickups. The integrated parking module in these vehicles may fail when the driver shifts into Park and cause the vehicle to roll away, increasing the risk of a crash.
To fix the issue, the park module software can be updated via an over-the-air update or by a dealer for free. Interim letters notifying owners of the issue are expected to be mailed Feb. 2, 2026; a second letter will be sent out once a remedy is available, likely sometime in February. Those with further questions can contact the automaker at 866-436-7332 (Ford’s number for this recall is 25C69), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
