Key Points

  • Pricing for the 2026 Nissan Altima starts at $28,825 (all prices include $1,245 destination charge).
  • Midnight Edition features black styling elements and additional standard content on SR trim
  • Lineup pared to just two trim levels

Once a default choice for car buyers, mid-size sedans are all but extinct today. Of those that remain, the Honda Accord has adopted an optional hybrid powertrain, the Toyota Camry has gone exclusively hybrid with available all-wheel drive, and the Nissan Altima — well, the Altima doesn’t have a hybrid option anymore but does offer AWD. For the 2026 model year, Nissan has dropped the entry-level 2.5 S trim and range-topping SL. The SL’s 12.3-inch touchscreen and wireless phone charger are now standard on the SR, with the rest of the SL’s equipment — including leather upholstery, heated front seats and a nine-speaker Bose sound system — now rolled into the SR Premium Package.

There’s also a new Altima SR Midnight Edition, which is available in black, white, gray and dark green; it features a contrasting black roof and black finishes on the grille, wheels, badges and window trim. The Midnight Edition also includes a moonroof and dual-zone automatic climate control.
