Key Points

  • Pricing for the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder starts at $38,995 (all prices include $1,495 destination charge).
  • New interior tech includes a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen
  • Minor exterior styling changes

For the 2026 model year, Nissan has addressed one of our chief complaints about the Pathfinder: its outdated infotainment system. Gone are the old 8- and 9-inch touchscreens (depending on trim level) and their labyrinthian menus, and in their place is a new 12.3-inch display with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The three-row SUV also gets revised headlights and bumpers for 2026, but no major changes. Eight-passenger seating comes standard on every Pathfinder trim level; a seven-seat configuration with middle-row captain’s chairs is optional on the Rock Creek, SL and Platinum trims.

Trim Levels and Safety Features

The entry-level Pathfinder S comes equipped with keyless entry and starting, 18-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights. Inside, you’ll find cloth seats (manually adjustable in front), a manual tilt/telescoping steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, a six-speaker audio system, and the new 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Standard safety features on the 2026 Pathfinder include forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, rear parking sensors with automatic braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert and a driver-attention monitor.

One step up, the SV adds heated side mirrors, a power liftgate, heated front seats and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The SV trim also gains adaptive cruise control, lane departure steering assist, blind spot steering assist and front parking sensors.

The Rock Creek features an off-road-tuned suspension and black 18-inch wheels wearing all-terrain tires. It gets a unique front bumper and grille, as well as exclusive synthetic leather upholstery with red stitching. A hitch receiver and transmission cooler bump towing capacity from 3,500 to 6,000 pounds. (Those features are optional on the SV and SL but standard on the Platinum.) The Rock Creek also adds a 360-degree camera with a wide-angle forward view for nosing onto busy streets and an Invisible Hood View feature that shows what is directly under the front of the vehicle.

The SL does without the Rock Creek’s off-road touches but keeps the 360-degree camera. It adds a heated steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging and road-sign recognition.

At the top of the Pathfinder hierarchy, the Platinum rides on 20-inch wheels and features rain-sensing windshield wipers, a panoramic moonroof and a hands-free power liftgate. Inside, it boasts quilted leather upholstery, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, ventilated front seats with power adjustability for the passenger and memory settings for the driver, heated outboard second-row seats, second-row window shades, a 13-speaker Bose sound system and a head-up display.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

While many competitors are switching to downsized turbocharged and/or hybridized four-cylinder engines, the 2026 Pathfinder is sticking with its naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6. It makes 284 horsepower and 259 pounds-feet of torque and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is a $2,000 option on the Pathfinder S, SV, SL and Platinum. AWD is standard on the Rock Creek, which is also tuned to generate an extra 11 hp and 11 pounds-feet of torque on premium fuel, for totals of 295 and 270, respectively.

Fuel-economy figures are the same for the S, SV and SL; Nissan says they return the same 20/27/23 mpg city/highway/combined with FWD and 21/27/23 mpg with AWD as the 2025 model (official EPA ratings for 2026 are not yet available). The Platinum is also rated at 20/27/23 mpg with FWD but slips to 20/25/22 mpg with AWD. With its all-terrain tires and standard AWD, the Rock Creek returns 20/23/21 mpg.
