The second generation of Hyundai’s Palisade three-row people mover bows for 2026 wearing boxy new styling and boasting a larger backseat, a new hybrid powertrain option and a new XRT Pro trim for families looking to venture beyond the pavement. Its base price is up more than $1,700 compared to the outgoing model’s, but the new Palisade is packed with standard comfort and tech features and offers spacious seating for seven or eight occupants, trim level depending. The 2026 Palisade starts at $40,430 for the gas-powered model and $45,155 for the hybrid (all prices include $1,495 destination charge).

Powertrain Specs and MPG

A 287-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 260 pounds-feet of torque powers the regular Palisade and is backed by an eight-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid powertrain with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that, with help from an electric motor, generates a total of 329 hp and 339 pounds-feet of torque is available on most trim levels for $2,220. The hybrid powertrain is mated to a six-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard on every Palisade but the XRT Pro, which has standard all-wheel drive; AWD is $2,000 with either the V-6 or hybrid.

Hyundai says the FWD V-6 Palisade returns an estimated 19/25/21 mpg city/highway/combined, while AWD is rated at 18/24/20 mpg (official EPA ratings are not yet available). Fuel-economy figures for the hybrid Palisade are to be announced. V-6 Palisades can tow trailers with brakes weighing up to 5,000 pounds, and the hybrid can handle up to 4,000 pounds. Without trailer brakes, both powertrains are rated for just 1,650 pounds.

Trim Levels

As Hyundai’s family flagship, the Palisade is packed with standard equipment. The entry-level SE trim includes 18-inch wheels, LED exterior lighting with automatic high beams, heated side mirrors, and keyless entry and start. Standard interior features of the SE include a second-row bench seat, cloth upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control with second-row controls and second- and third-row vents, an intercom for parents to easily talk to kids in the wayback, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Stepping up to the SEL nets buyers a moonroof, roof rails, synthetic leather, power-adjustable and heated front seats, second-row captain’s chairs, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and wireless phone charging. The SEL Premium keeps the look of the SEL but adds luxury features such as driver-seat memory, ventilated front seats, heated and ventilated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel and ambient lighting.

While Hyundai has offered XRT trims on its other SUVs and the Santa Cruz pickup truck, the 2026 Palisade gets the automaker’s first XRT Pro variant. Only available with AWD, the XRT Pro benefits from a 1-inch suspension lift, 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential and a trailer-hitch receiver. (All Palisades are prewired for trailer lights and have heavy-duty engine and transmission coolers, but the receiver is an option on lower trim levels.) Dark finishes on the bumpers and black door handles help the XRT Pro stand apart from the rest of the line. It also features a 14-speaker Bose sound system and trim-specific off-road displays in the gauge cluster.

Riding on 20-inch wheels, the Palisade Limited gains a dual-pane moonroof and acoustically insulated side windows. It’s upholstered in genuine leather and adds heated, power-folding and power-sliding third-row seats and satin-chrome interior trim.

At the top of the Palisade lineup is the Calligraphy. It gets 21-inch wheels, a monochromatic exterior with body-color bumpers and silver trim, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Inside, the Calligraphy features Nappa leather, a massaging driver’s seat with adjustable bottom cushion, and power-adjustable second-row seats that recline deeper and feature adjustable bottom cushions.
