In the past couple of months, Hyundai has had major recalls for both its K5 sedan and Santa Fe SUV over fire risks. Now, the brand is recalling more than 143,400 examples of its Santa Fe and Santa Fe Hybrid SUVs over an issue with the backup camera.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2024-25 Santa Fes and Santa Fe Hybrids. The issue involves the rearview camera, which may have been improperly installed, damaging the wiring harness and preventing the camera image from displaying. This reduces driver visibility and increases the risk of a crash.

As a fix, dealers will replace the rearview camera and reposition the wiring harness for free. Hyundai will notify owners Jan. 19, 2026, but those with further questions can call the automaker at 855-371-9460 (Hyundai’s number for this recall is 288), or visit NHTSA’s website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
